Greetings All... this is my 1st post here. Thought I'd join the conversation...
I'm not sure who to believe about chemicals leaching from plastic so I recently bought 4 new BPA-free Camelbak water bottles (2 - half litre & 2 - three quarter litre). These will replace the various water bottles that I've been using and the dozen or so "bottled water" bottles that I've been reusing over & over.
I've always liked my regular Camelbak hydration systems (backpack bladders) with the hose/bite value so I thought I'd try their bottles with the bite value. So far I really like them. Also, they are safer to use while driving since you don't have to tilt them back to drink from them & they're virtually leak/spill proof.
I like the shape of the Camelbak bottles over the standard Nalgene bottles, they fit better in my travel bags, computer bag, and auto cup holders which makes it more convenient to always have one or more with me. I also picked up a few neoprene sleeves and another thermal cover pouch for them which keeps my water/ice cold for several hours and these sleeves prevent all the condensation from leaking all over. The Camelbak bottles' "wide-mouth" top also fit my water filtration systems just like the Nalgene which was another plus for me.
Of course for hiking & biking I still use my regular Camelbak backpacks.
